Notice of Vacancy in office of Parish Councillor on the Spaldwick Parish Council
Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that due to the resignation of Councillor Wendy Burcham there is a vacancy on the Spaldwick Parish Council.
To be considered for co-option, applicants must declare themselves eligible as:
(a) a British subject or citizen of the European Union or Ireland AND
(b) have attained the age of 18 years AND
(c) be registered as a local government elector for the parish OR
(d) have during the whole of the twelve months preceding that day occupied as owner or tenant the following land or other premises in the parish OR
(e) their principal place of work during those twelve months has been in this parish OR
(f) have during the whole of those twelve months resided in the parish or within 4.8k (3 miles) of it
Please note: Disqualifications from being co-opted as a member are detailed in Local Government Act 1972, Section 80 and include
•Holding a paid office under the authority
•Bankruptcy
•Having been sentenced to a term of imprisonment (whether suspended or not) of not less than three months, without the option of a fine, during the five years preceding the election; and
•Being disqualified under any enactment relating to corrupt or illegal practices.

Cancelled Council Meeting.
Following the sad news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the period of National Mourning and advice provided by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) the Spaldwick Parish council meeting planned for Thursday 15th September has been cancelled. A meeting will be arranged for later in the month.
Statement of condolence from the Chairman of Spaldwick Parish Council
It is with great sadness that we heard of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty The Queen was a much loved and highly respected figure, ruling for longer than any other British Monarch, she was renowned throughout her reign for her dedication and service to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
We express our heartfelt condolences to The Royal Family at this sad time.
